The Audiovisual Technician is responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the conference facility.
a. This includes the operation of video switchers for up to 8 cameras plus other video and computer sources. Full understanding of live video switched events and video lighting techniques.
b. Operating analog, digital videotape machines and digital disk recorders for playback and recording. Knowledge of various formats, such as Betacam, DVCpro, DVcam, and DVD, etc).
c. Experienced with multi-image, multiple screens, electronic based presentations.
d. Audio mixing, audio amplification and enhancement, audio source assignments, routing, patching and distribution. Knowledge of microphone types, usage and placement and experience with both wireless and hard wired microphones.
e. Full understanding of all signal routing via patch panels as well as RGB, SDI, standard video and audio routers.
f. Scheduling and programming.
g. Operation of AMX control systems via touch screen or computer interface.
h. Excellent troubleshooting skills are required to solve problems before, during and after live presentations.
i. Solid technical and maintenance skills to perform audio-visual troubleshooting and basic maintenance as well as computer skills both Windows and Macintosh.
j. In depth understanding of broadcast audio and video, multimedia, VTC (Video-Teleconferencing) systems, video and audio streaming technologies and standards.
k. Experienced with the operations of video teleconferencing (VTC) equipment and systems.
l. Familiar with DVSG structure, operations, policies and procedures.
m. Provide conference room scheduling (electronic based) services as required.
n. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
o. Outstanding customer service skills are a must since these technicians will be in personal contact with the end user on a daily basis.
