Title: Information Technology Specialist

Duties / Responsibilities:

A government contractor requires a Information Technology Specialist to perform daily Macintosh & Window systems administration, information assurance and customer support work to support IT architecture for graphics, photo, digital video and multimedia systems. 

Tasks - Information Technology Specialist

(a) Coordinates and implements the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware and software on servers and desktop systems. The task involves the management of systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, ser-viceability, and recoverability as well as technical support for customers who need advice, assistance, and training in applying hardware and software systems.

(b) Provides technical support and guidance in matters relating to information management (IT) security issues that involve a wide range of IT and Information Assurance for entire system. This includes work that involves ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.

(c) Implements Information Assurance measures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, networks, and data; conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs; promoting awareness of security issues among users.

(d) Conducts systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews; develops systems security contingency plans and disaster recovery procedures; develops and implements programs to ensure that systems, network, and data users are aware of, understand, and adhere to systems security policies and procedures.

(e) Serves as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) that implements, maintains, and conducts on-site and remote analyses of information system standard security products and associated systems in order to determine overall technical features and standard security protection required for information systems and networks processing at all levels of information se-curity. Technical skill areas include DoD Level II System Security and Administration for Windows, Apple (Unix) and Networks, which will be required to earn in 120 days from starting.  Top Secret Clearance is required.
