Duties
/ Responsibilities:
The Business Development Specialist (BDS) will be responsible for the coordination and execution of ITI clients, TV, Broadcasting, Production and other media related requirements, as well as researching, identifying and pre-qualifying new business opportunities for the Director of Visual Management Services (VMS).
The BDS will support the VMS Director in the planning, coordination and execution of VMS sales activities to the federal government. This includes assisting the Director in managing VMS accounts, competitive analysis, documenting activities, and supporting existing customer accounts in order to achieve VMS sales goals, as well as producing various reports and reconciling weekly timesheets and billing invoices from Freelancers, subcontractors and third party vendors. Advanced skills in customized documents with Word, PowerPoint, and Excel are a must.
Develop a web-based search program using ‘INPUT';
Create and distribute marketing and sales collateral material (Brochures, Capability Statement, etc.) to potential prospects, attend industry activities as assigned, and maintain a prospect, and teaming partner database;
Proposal support (i.e., must understand the tenants of Government proposal process: storyboarding, red, pink teaming, etc);
Assisting the VMS Director and Proposal Manager in coordinating the different phases of the proposal with the technical team to include coordinating & gathering the data calls for final assembly in proposal binders for delivery).
Typical duties include but are not limited to the following:
Freelance Coordination and Scheduling (30%). The Production Specialist will be heavily depended upon as the primary corporate resource to support the successful operations of ITI customer, which includes telephonic coordination with freelancers and clients to revise/update production schedule, and will require “on-call” after-hours support.
Proposal Coordinator Support (30%). BDS will support all proposals as assigned. This includes coordinating the proposal directive, proposal schedules, data calls, monitoring announcements from client, preparing documentation, managing large volumes of data, organizing RFP proposal in appropriate sections, etc.
Knowledge Management Initiative (20%). BDS will support the development and on-going update of VMS account past performance. This includes meeting with PM's or designated representatives, documenting success stories, lessons learned, and story-boarding those activities into a well organized repository whereby VMS can quickly respond to data calls, development of white papers, and support proposal development. BDS will ensure quality and accuracy of data including quantifying activities in a metric format.
Business Development (20%). BDS will support the on-going and development of the VMS pipeline. This includes researching, identifying, qualifying, and carrying out the necessary “ground work” to hand off to the VMS Director. BDS will assist in maintaining the pipeline, contribution to Weekly Activity Reports, and will focus on 2010, and 2011, opportunities. BDS presents business development reviews on specific opportunities as assigned by the VMS Director.
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
College Degree in business, public policy, multi-media, telecommunications or related fields, a minimum of two to five years business development experience, excellent communication, verbal and written skills. The candidate must be proactive and work well under pressure. The ability to forecast surges in the work load and develop preventative maintenance in downtime is essential as well as having both quantitative and qualitative skills.
