Duties / Responsibilities:
The successful candidate for this position must have a strong understanding of communications installation techniques. A minimum of 5-8 years of experience in cable fabrication and installation for broadcast and A/V systems is required. Experience in a supervisory/leadership position is required. This position will interface with senior and project management to implement project management agenda for projects assigned to the implementation division. The successful candidate will manage and train all installation technicians to include; Prioritize assignments, Set goals, Evaluate work and quality control of work performed, and explain technical material. Associate degree. in Electronic Technologies or a related field or equivalent military training is preferred. Knowledge of broadcast and A/V systems operations and integration is required. A basic understanding of various audio and video formats and standards is necessary. Familiarity with AMX and Crestron control systems is a plus. The candidate must be experienced in the use of broadcast and A/V test equipment and be familiar with standard test procedures. The candidate must possess good communications skills and be a strong team player. Should also be able to climb ladders, lift up to 80lbs. and be able to operate the necessary hand tools and vehicles as required. PC experience using Windows '95, '98, 2000 or NT is considered necessary. The candidate must be knowledgeable with industry standard cable terminations, installation and fabrication techniques. The candidate will be reading, interpreting and implementing schematic drawings for the purpose of communicating this information in written form to installation technicians for installing broadcast television/radio and high-end A/V systems. A strong knowledge of component setup, system signal flow and good troubleshooting skills are required.
Education / Qualifications:
The work requirements include cutting, terminating and identifying various types of audio, video and data cables. The installation of cables in equipment racks, closets and cable management systems is also required. This is a supervisory position. The successful candidate will be working closely with Implementation and Engineering personnel to assist in the development of manpower estimates, work assignments and project time lines. Will also be responsible for Project Q.C.
