Duties / Responsibilities:

Production company in Washington D.C. has an opening for a Chief Engineer. Must have a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in the professional and/or broadcast television environment. The candidate must be thoroughly knowledgeable in the areas of TV operations and engineering. The successful candidate must be skilled in audio and video plant philosophy, including the standards for NTSC-M analog and CCIR-601 serial digital video transmission. Individual must be familiar with all forms of television transmission, services by satellite, terrestrial microwave, optical, and metallic circuits for analog, digital, and hybrid modulation including experience in the coordinating functions of traffic management, notification, and scheduling. Experience with DV and webcast video signals is a plus. Individual must be capable of, assessing, documenting, and modifying existing systems when required.

Education / Qualifications:

Experience with VIDCAD, Microsoft Excel, and maintenance tracking software is a plus. Ability to test and verify all video and audio circuits involved in each broadcast is required. Skills should include demonstrated experience in the design and installation of television production equipment and facilities. Individual should be capable of performing repair and maintenance to professional television production equipment to the component level. Knowledge of the operation of television production equipment as well as production techniques and terminology is advantageous. A BSEE degree from an accredited college is required.
