Fort Eustis
|
Agency: Department of Defense (DOD) - The Training and Audiovisual Support Center (TASC) for the US Army that provides centralized installation staff management of Visual Information (VI) activities and functions such as training aids, graphic arts production support, television support, electronic multimedia imaging production, photographic and publication support, training aids, exhibits design and production.
Problem: To design, develop, and implement an effective consolidated center by acquiring an Information web portal that will support the post-wide Media Asset Management System, Workorder Management System, Print On Demand, Video On Demand, and streaming media content associated with all department of the Army activities, and other DOD agencies.
ITI Solution: ITI is developing a fully automated, scaleable, fully integrated TASC Information Web Portal that allows the customers to access training, barrow loan-based items, reserve physical training materials. Print On demand services allow the customers to perform preflight verification of their documents via the web portal prior to submitting such documents for printing. Video On Demand services delivers live and on-demand video to the Army. Customer job requests are integrated in the Workorder Management System where the customer can query the status of his/her request in real-time via the Web Portal.
When designing the Web Portal System Architecture, ITI's technical team has explored new commercial technologies, including data warehousing issues. Within the web portal, meta-data of many different kinds by various vendors are integrated into the operations and management of the system. ITI's framework deals with the use of meta-data and registration processes to ensure a single integrated view is provided to users.

Air National Guard

|

Agency: Department of Defense (DOD) - The District of Columbia Air National Guard (DCANG) Airlift Squadron's mission, is to perform operational worldwide airlift missions for the National Guard Bureau, the Air Force, and the Department of Defense. The fleet transports the executive branch, congressional members, Department of Defense officials and high-ranking U.S. and foreign dignitaries through out the world.
Problem: The DCANG's desire is to acquire a fully automated scheduling display system for viewing worldwide airlift missions and for tracking aircrafts, sorties, personnel, and aircraft locations.
ITI Solution: ITI held meetings and had extensive discussions with the scheduler office staff and other related departments. ITI's team discussed system requirements with the schedulers and aircraft maintenance staff. ITI assessed current work methods for both the scheduler's office and the use of information in other departments that utilized their work. This includes the scheduling of the many resources needed to for missions including aircrafts, sorties, personnel, locations, and supporting resource, and other ancillary items.
ITI developed a graphical scheduling system that supports and tracks transport aircrafts and crew members. ITI worked very closely with the DCANG network staff to migrate the computer servers and ITI developed software that has been put into the DCANG network infrastructure.

Voice of America

|

Agency: Voice of America (VOA) - The Voice of America, which first went on the air in 1942, is a multimedia international broadcasting service funded by the U.S. government through the Broadcasting Board of Governors. VOA broadcasts more than 1,000 hours of news, information, educational, and cultural programming every week to an estimated worldwide audience of more than 100 million people
Problem: To assess VOA's work methods and develop a tracking and scheduling system for all VOA's radio production resource elements required for the production of the VOA's programming. Total size of resource elements included a world wide Central Recording Facility, over 50 news studios, related program libraries, voice systems and transmission facility.

NIH leads the way toward important medical discoveries that improve people's health and save lives. NIH scientists investigate ways to prevent disease as well as the causes, treatments, and cures for common and rare diseases.
Problem: Provide NIH with a fully functional scheduling and business management system designed to support the NIH's Events Management Division. Interact with the NIH staff to evaluate process control and study other necessary areas to provide a thorough "needs analysis" for the specification and integration of a commercial off-the-shelf resource management system with NIH Events Management operations.
ITI Solution: ITI's work methodology focuses on obtaining a clear understanding of user requirements, refining the requirements during the analysis phase, ensuring strict quality control, and the application of strong project management skills throughout the task. ITI used a variety of techniques including: preliminary investigation, walk through, user contact, and review of existing documentation.
