United States Postal Service

United States Postal Service - Media Unit- William F. Bolger Center, Potomac, Maryland. The Bolger Center is a primary training center for USPS. supervisory personnel. The Bolger Center offers 75 spacious meeting rooms that will accommodate groups of five to five hundred. Integrated within this state of the art conference center is the USPS Media Unit consisting of live television and video production facilities for employee development. ITI began production support at the unit in the second quarter of 2006, providing producers, directors, videographers, engineers, editors, and administrative support staff. In addition to scores of employee training and informational videos, the ITI staff assists USPS management in the production of ongoing live broadcasts on the Postal Satellite Training Network. Originating from studios at the Bolger Center, the live broadcasts are viewed by Postal employees at over 400 downlink facilities nationwide.

Current projects produced by ITI for USPS:

"Fundamentals For Supervisors In a Changing Delivery Environment" This is a comprehensive 2 1/2 hour training video for Post Office supervisors.

USPS Retirement Planning - A 7 DVD set containing detailed retirement information for all Postal employees.

NASA TV (originally NASA Select) provides educational information on space sciences and live coverage of activities related to the

U.S. space program. NASA TV is broadcast by satellite and also simulcasts over the Internet. Many local cable television systems across the country carry the programming. The station provides a large amount of educational programming, and also covers NASA space launches and missions (such as the space shuttle) live. NASA TV operates multiple channels including a media channel, a public channel, and an educational channel.

For the past several years, ITI has provided technical management & administration support to NASA TV. ITI has provided production support and advice on broadcast and Internet productions including press conferences, live multi-camera productions, teleconferences, satellite feeds, multimedia tours, video news releases, public affairs announcements, media tours, on-location interviews, and newscasts. In this capacity ITI has perform all aspects of pre-production, production and post-production services including initial planning, script writing, set design, camera talent, directing the shoot, editing, tape duplication, mailings, captioning, music composition, voice-over's, titling, animation, art direction, graphics, and special effects. ITI also repairs, services, and maintains the NASA TV studio and production systems and provides library services to support production teams, written reports, and documentation as required by NASA TV. ITI also provided technical planning and specifications of the conversion from analog to digital. ITI recommended changes to ease the transition to standard digital and/or HDTV. a


Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)

ITI was proud to be selected as the preferred contractor to provide technical and operational support services to DISA's Visual Information Services Branch. The Visual Information Services Branch coordinates and standardizes service operations in computer graphics, multi-media imagery, graphics, printing and reproduction services and serves as visual information manager and representing DISA on all Department of Defense visual information policy committees . The Visual Information (VI) provided includes multi-media production design, in-house printing and reproduction services, digital slide imaging and original graphics design. Desktop publishing including layout and color separations, poster and banner making, engraving, engineering drafting and exhibit displays and art for promotional advertisement, marketing, and public release are also produced. VI also provides digital/electronic photographic services with small and medium format cameras, plus audio and video systems implementation, video production, editing, and duplicating services. Nonlinear editing systems using high-end hardware and state of the art software are used to build high-quality videos and animations. VI also provides television engineering assistance to DISA organizations and projects.

ITI also provides support for the MPEG streaming system and the distribution of the MPEG signal throughout the building as well as DISA headquarters and other outlying areas. ITI provides operator support for video conferences along with projection, audio, and video taping. ITI provides support for graphic and print design for creating high quality printed materials such as newsletters, posters, signs and booklets. ITI provides design and layout support for multimedia production by creating computer based training applications, desktop publishing, print layout, and design and animated programming. ITI provides support in the production studio and for field productions, video editing on non-linear systems, digital video and file compression for web or CD delivery. ITI provides technical consultation analysis and maintenance assessment of the current audiovisual equipment. ITI supports the VI branch serving as a representative to the Agency Visual Information Chief for application integration and implementation throughout the Agency for on-going upgrades, maintenance, and testing. The National Conservation Training Center (NCTC) trains and educates natural resource managers to accomplish their common goal of conserving fish, wildlife, plants, and their habitats. As the "home of the Fish and Wildlife Service," NCTC brings exceptional training and education opportunities to Fish and Wildlife Service employees and others. NCTC is a gathering place where conservation professionals from all sectors can learn together in an environment especially designed for them.

ITI supplies technical and operational support for the following:live interactive video tele-training (distance learning) broadcasts transmitted by satellite or other means of telecommunication; video and multimedia productions and duplication; publication and video script writing; video and still photo image library operations; still photography; graphic arts and reproduction; video and print duplication and distribution services; webcasting and video streaming services; maintenance, repair and replacement of electronic equipment for television and audiovisual facilities; image library services to include answering phones, processing requests, mailing and cataloging; and campus audiovisual operations and related computer support for NCTC classrooms, auditorium, and lodges.

The HUD Training Academy (HTA) was initially formed to provide Distance Learning (DL) to HUD employees via satellite broadcasts and webcasts. The Department’s DL network has evolved from educating and training HUD employees to inform and communicate agency news to the general public via HUD TV, webcasting, and videoconferencing to the general public. The HUD TV's mission includes:

  • Assist the Secretary in disseminating information to the public through Video News Releases (VNR) for the office of Public Affairs;
  • Produce informational or educational presentations for HUD staff or citizens groups;
  • Produce Public Service Announcements (PSA) and addresses by the Secretary;
  • Assist in training HUD employees, HUD customers, and public interest groups via live satellite programming, webcasting, and videoconferencing from HUD Headquarters.

The HTA broadcasts agency news information to its nationwide branch office locations, housing developments, and media outlets (C-Span, cable systems, networks, etc). Since 1995 ITI has been providing operational support to the HTA. This includes on-site technical staffing, resource scheduling, program distribution, program scheduling and operation of a user help desk. ITI also provides freelance audio and camera operators, technical directors, teleprompter operators, and lighting directors for special projects or large events. ITI manages such production events as multiple, interactive sites around the country, linked by satellite, for White House "town hall meetings", press conferences, live multi-camera productions, teleconferences, satellite feeds, multimedia tours, video news releases, public affairs announcements, media tours, on-location interviews, and newscasts. These broadcasts are distributed to major television networks, C-SPAN, and to HUD's 85 downlink sites. These production events include field shoot/edit packages, satellite channels, uplinks, downlinks, microwave, fiber optic circuits, Ku and C band trucks, telephone bridges, ISDN interconnects, and 800 numbers. Since 1995 ITI has performed more than 700 studio broadcasts with webcasting, 300 remote broadcasts, and 500 audiovisual tapings, many involving senior administration officials (the President, Vice President, Secretary of HUD, etc.) with a staff of talented producers, directors, editors, videographers, video engineers, and audio/visual technicians to assist in producing high quality informational, educational, and promotional presentations.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) was established by international treaty in 1945 to help promote the health of the world economy. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the IMF is the central institution of the international monetary system—the system of international payments and exchange rates among national currencies that enables business to take place between countries. It aims to prevent crises in the system by encouraging countries to adopt sound economic policies, and supports a fund that can be tapped by members needing temporary financing to address balance of payments problems.

ITI provides audio-visual management services to IMF in support of its mission including board meetings, event conferences, seminars, video teleconferences, language interpretations and special events such as the Fall and Spring Ministerial Meetings where the government leaders from the world convene. The ITI Team at IMF has provided audio-visual support for approximately 15,000 meetings, conferences, and other events hosting high-level financial and information technology professionals. This includes government leaders (Heads of state, Cabinet Ministers, Finance Ministers, Scientists, economists, etc.) from around the world.
