National Institutes of Health

NIH is the primary medical and behavioral research center for the Nation. It is comprised of 27 separate components, mainly Institutes and Centers operating under the Health and Human Services agency. These 27 Institutes and Centers include world recognized organizations such as 'Center for Disease Control', 'National Cancer Institute', ' National Library of Medicine', 'National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute', etc. The NIH Events Management provides comprehensive conference/meeting support services for NIH conference facilities on the Bethesda campus as well as off-campus in support of the mission of its 27 Institute and Centers. ITI was privileged to have played a small role in support of NIH's mission by providing full and part-time on-site technical support in the operations, management and maintenance of the auditoriums, lecture Halls, Conference rooms, Videoconferencing Facilities and medial labs. ITI also assisted NIH in upgrading their technical facilities and in developing SOPs to insure equipment and systems function fully and reliably for planned medical and scientific audiovisual and media presentation events.

Army Research Laboratory

The U.S. Army Research Laboratory (ARL) is the Army's primary source of fundamental and applied research. Its mission is to provide the Army with the key technologies and analytical support necessary to ensure supremacy in future land warfare. It constitutes the largest source of integrated science and technology services in the Army. The U.S. Army Research Laboratory’s (ARL’s) Computational and Information Sciences Directorate (CISD) is the principal Army organization for research and development in computational and information sciences. CISD is responsible for and directly oversees leading research initiatives in information science and technology & computational science, as well as in atmospheric and environmental sciences. CISD, in collaboration with academic and industry partners, conducts basic and applied research resulting in technologies that support state-of-the-art capabilities in the analysis, distribution, and/or assimilation of real or simulated digitized battle space information.

ITI  was proud to play a small role in assisting ARL CISD achieve its mission. ITI provided technical and operational support services to the  (formerly Informational Science & Technology Directorate Laboratory Center) in Adelphi Maryland. Support services included system configurations, systems improvements, enhancements, expansion and maintenance of the various audio visual, multimedia and visual/external communications systems. The statement of work called for computer systems specialists to support the operation of a Visualization Augmentation Laboratory for User Experiments (VALUE) where high-level computer programs utilize 3-D modeling and animation are interfaced to large-screen audiovisual systems through a fiber optic network for both local and wide-area distribution. ITI personnel operated and maintained the audiovisual equipment, computer equipment, and video teleconferencing equipment. In addition, ITI provided ongoing design, development and maintenance of the existing Intranet and related database applications.
